The Cause
Bible Study for Atheists started in 2020, right around 3 months into the heaviest Covid shutdown I’ve ever seen in Michigan. I watched with my own eyes on social media how badly self-proclaimed Christians put people who disagree with them on blast. I really didn’t think it was as big of a problem as it apparently really is!
See, I’ve only been a Christian for 20 years of my life, and before that I was 7 other religions… and yup- you guessed it, I was an atheist at one point in time too. Now, I had been badly treated by some “Christians” before as well, but I was also very, very extreme in my hatred for God and for Christianity. I was very loud and flamboyant about my distaste for the Bible in those days. I expected to take some heat for it, and certainly enough, I did.
Back to 2020, I was in a prayerful mode, trying to figure out what to do with myself, now that I was one of very few essential workers, and how I was to connect with people. I started with what most people did – social media.
But to my surprise, as I actually sat down to read what people say, I found an onslaught of absolute hatred coming from those siding with Christianity, towards those who had other beliefs (mainly atheism for some reason). In particular, the trash talk of the day seemed to be against Bill Gates. Why Bill Gates? I don’t know, I think it had to do with some farming thing and talks about getting shots and that jazz. Nonetheless, the conversation was hateful and ungodly.
So what did I do? I made a challenge to my Facebookers of that time. I said “I’m seeing a lot of talk about Bill Gates, would you pray for Bill Gates?” Multiple times, I heard THIS answer: “I won’t pray for a demon.”
Whoa whoa- stop right there! Just because someone disagrees with your theology doesn’t make them a demon. Bill Gates is a human, who happens to not believe in the Bible. I disagree with Bill on a lot of things, but I still love him as a human being, and Christians all over should as well. The hate I saw being poured out on him was so much, that I told myself “If nobody else will preach to atheists, I will!”
If you’re already on my Facebook, you will see the 4 years of videos I’ve compiled. I recently am reconstructing this site to improve its reach and performance. If you’re new, I encourage you, stick around, but most importantly, SEEK GOD for yourself! If you’ve been a victim of such church hurt as I’ve seen coming from so called Christians out there on social media, please understand they are NOT representing the love of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I intend to tell it all, friends. The Born Again Experience (quick references see Acts 2:38-39, John 3:1-8, Romans 6:1-4… I intend to talk much more on these verses), heaven, hell, sin, repentance, forgiveness, baptism, all of it. Creation, science, prophesy, history, doctrine. Anything that is pertinent to the Bible, and pertinent to a Christian, I intend to show the unbeliever the things I wish I was shown when I had my first really bad church experience.
Lord Jesus willing, I will be talking very openly on all of it- and I’ll be doing so in a way that is non-imposing, but much the rather being informative without pressuring you wrongly to get you to just “accept Jesus as your savior.” There is so much more to the Gospel than a simple prayer, and so much of it is lost on today’s society, both in and out of churches. I like to share these things with whosoever chooses to hear me, so you have the ability to actually think (and hopefully pray) on the topics at hand, and make your decisions for yourself, without feeling like you’re being forced against your will to do something.
Being forced against your will to choke out a prayer won’t save you. Being Born Again will! But, that’s entirely your choice to embrace God in such a way that will change your eternity, your life, and your heart forever!
